How the StockX fee is calculated
Both fees come off your ask price. The transaction fee has a $5 floor, so a $40 sale pays $5 rather than $3.60.
Why a StockX fee hurts more on cheap items
Drag the price. The percentage part of the fee stays the same, but any fixed charge is spread over fewer dollars, so the share of the sale you lose climbs as the price falls.
